The drawing of Daniel in the lions den was inspired by the Renaissance picture painted by Rubens. In the picture above you see that Daniel is distraught and fearful. It seems as though he is begging for his life. Although the painting is a great painting, it does not come near to the truth of the scripture. Daniel was someone who feared God and not the King or even death itself. So I imagined that Daniel who knew God, perhaps as few others have,in fact slept in great peace while the King did not sleep at all. The angel was present to close the mouths of the Lions. I imagined that Daniel was able to use the Lion indeed for a pillow - and so the second name for this picture is "My Pillow". For details of the whole story read in the Bible Daniel chapter 4.
